Round Rock Writing Center

The Writing Center satellite office at the Texas State University Round Rock Campus in Avery Room 203 is open to all currently enrolled Texas State students with a valid Texas State ID regardless of where you attend classes. To see a map and get directions, visit the RRC map page. For more information, please see the main Writing Center site, visit the center, or call us at 512.716.4077.

Booking an Appointment

The Writing Center is a student staffed tutoring service. It is primarily appointment-based, but walk-ins are taken if a tutor is available.  Booking an appointment in advance is strongly encouraged to ensure service availability.

You may make a 25- or 55-minute appointment*.
If your paper is longer than four pages, you're an English language learner, or you're preparing
for the PUG, select a 55-minute appointment. Before making an appointment, you
should review our
What to Expect Page and may wish to review tutors' bios on our Staff Page.

To request an appointment, click on the following link.

Please use the pull-down menu to select the Round Rock Writing Center or the Online Writing Center.

Check your e-mail for your appointment confirmation and important instructions.

*If you can't keep your appointment or if you will be more than five minutes late, cancel it online as soon as possible to avoid the appointment being marked as missed and canceled. You will be blocked from our schedule if you miss or are late for three or more appointments in an academic year.

Spring 2015 Schedule (January 26 - May 4):

Mondays 11-7

Tuesdays 11-4

Wednesday 11-7

Fridays 11-4

2nd and 4th Saturdays 11-3

The Writing Center will be closed during Spring Break and Spring 2015 finals.

The hours of operation may change to accommodate student tutor academic obligations.

PUG strategy sessions will be every Monday at 3. See the events calendar for more information.

Walk-in tutoring is also available each day we are open, and students can visit us during this time without making an appointment. Be aware that scheduled sessions have priority over walk-ins, but a tutor will help walk-in students as soon as possible. Students are also eligible to use the San Marcos Writing Center and our online sessions. Sign up for online sessions on our website.
